Direct primary care is medical care the way it used to be. It prioritizes the relationship between you and your doctor and removes the middle man- insurance companies from meddling. Instead of paying insurance companies and copays with every visit and other hidden costs, for a low monthly membership, you have direct access to your doctor, will be seen in a timely manner, have longer more personalized visits.

Having health insurance is still necessary to cover complex conditions, procedures, certain imaging, emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Our goal is to reduce risk of hospitalizations and complications and therefore we recommend high deductible plans and cost sharing plans to cover for the mentioned scenarios or any catastrophic events.

Although both concierge and direct primary care practices have much smaller number of patients and offer personalized care, concierge practices bill insurances in addition to their monthly membership fees and members are responsible for copays and deductibles. Concierge membership fees are also much higher, usually between $2000-$10,000 dollars per year. In a direct primary care practice, not only are the fees lower, but labs and medications are offered to you at cost, making it much more affordable.

Although we do not accept insurance for care provided at our office, your insurance plans will continue to operate as usual at other doctors’ offices, hospitals and pharmacies. Some insurance plans do not require an in-network doctor for referrals, medications, tests, etc, so Monarch Primary Care can order those services as needed just as any other doctor would do.

Many employers allow HSA funds to be used to pay DPC Membership fees. We cannot advise in this area, but do check with your employee benefits manager or CPA.

We understand that your needs may change, so we make it easy for you. You can terminate your membership at any time with just a 30 day notice. If you do terminate your membership and later, would like to reenroll, we will accept you on a space available basis subject to a re-enrollment fee of $85. We do not accept re-enrollments for a third time.

Yes we do.  At Monarch Primary Care, we work to coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
A DPC Membership is beneficial and can save money, even for individuals who do not require frequent medical attention. DPC offers personalized and accessible care. Monarch Primary Care, offers more immediate visits and access to your physician, longer appointment times, and the convenience of telemedicine services. With improved access to care, members can often avoid costly trips to urgent care or the ER for minor injuries, illnesses, stitches, etc. The money saved by preventing just one unnecessary trip to the ER (with the inevitable copays and deductibles) will often cover the cost of your DPC membership fees. Also, the ability to access your physician (who is familiar with your needs and health history) by phone or telemed when travelling or on vacation can save the time, expense, and frustration involved in finding appropriate care in an unfamiliar location.
